I was watching every agent as they walked into this home. They all had one thing in common: a smile on their face. I swear entering this home is like walking into a spa — the sunlight pouring through a lovely atrium with gardenias sweetening the air and classic Eichler open feel with all the rooms facing the atrium. My favorite feature of the home is the electrical sliding skylight over the atrium, shown here.

The kitchen was opened up and they added stainless washer dryer under the counters in a classic Eichler retro modern feel. Everything felt fresh and clean, I didn’t see anything wrong with it myself, and didn’t hear any other criticism of this awesome home. Nothing negative could be said about it!

2003 Ellen Ave

This 3/2 is going for $749,000. It’s got original kitchen and baths, but it’s got a good layout with some real nice yard features for somebody who’s into landscaping and plants like I am: a pond in the front and a great greenhouse out back. As with any unusual feature, there was lots of discussion about the pros and cons of the greenhouse. Being my own family’s Chief Horticultural Officer, I loved it. 1482 Curtis really caught me by surprise. It’s across Minnesota towards Nevada, an area with lots of high-end homes. It’s a 4/3 listed for $1.45M. My favorite part of it is the beautiful bocce ball court complete with granite counter for your beverage of choice. Obviously way beyond great for entertaining.

My favorite new listing has to be 1184 Nevada Ave. It’s an amazing house — 5,761 square feet on an 11,076 square foot lot, just two years old listed for $2,895,000. It has a very “manly” feel from the outside with lots of stonework. Inside, it’s got high-end details from the lighting to the solid natural wood doors. There’s a TV in the bathroom that neatly retracts into the ceiling! There’s lots of room for fun and games too, with a game room for the kids and plenty of space for entertaining. It’s beautiful — I could SOOOO live there!

It’s totally prime location and isn’t going to last, so if you know somebody looking for high-end Willow Glen charm that doesn’t need/want a huge house, they need to move fast!

Another one that’ll go fast: 1152 Fairview

This really nice 4/3 is on a prime tree-lined Willow Glen street a short stroll away from the Avenue, and I think it’s a great deal listed at $1,229,000. I’m a little partial to it because it’s a Tudor built in 1928, just like my own home, but this house really does have it all — it’s one level which many people with families look for, it’s got a great layout, and it’s been very nicely remodeled. I especially liked the kitchen. I’m no chef, but even I could picture myself cooking something more than the bacon and eggs I limit myself to at home. : )

The last new listing I want to highlight is 1155 El Abra Way, a good-sized 5/3 listed for $1,278,000. It features a very nicely remodelled kitchen, and a finished basement…with a fireplace!
